DNS: Everyone uses it, not many know it.

Session description

What is the technology which has scaled the most since the Internet was born? Well.. I guess that the title of my presentation already sold that out: yes it's DNS (Domain Name System).

Everyone in our business has definitely heard of DNS and most likely also set a few records, but do we all know how it really works?

In this talk I will explain how the whole DNS ecosystem works, from eeh root servers to the ghost file. I will also talk about some of the strengths and weaknesses of the protocol, and what lies in its future (or present?).
